Son Heung-min's 'Running in a Storm'

Mickey van der Pen Tottenham Hotspur, who helped Son Heung-min score his second goal of the season with a storm dribble, will continue to rush forward.

In an interview after the match against Everton conducted by British media Evening Standard on the 26th, Panderpen said he would not stop the forward dribbling that helped Son Heung-min score his second goal.

Tottenham won 4-0 in the opening match of the second round of the Premier League against Everton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on the 24th.

Son Heung-min scored multiple goals in the 25th minute of the first half and the 32nd minute of the second half, adding Yves Bissouma's first goal in the 14th minute of the first half and Christian Romero's header in the 26th minute of the second half to secure his first victory of the season. Tottenham ranked fifth 1 win, 1 draw and 4 points, +4 goal difference depending on the goal difference.

Son Heung-min was helped by Panderpen when he scored his second goal on the day.

After blocking Everton's attack from the defensive end, he dribbled directly forward. He advanced from the box of his own camp to the front of the opponent's box after passing through the half-line, and gave up the pass to Son, who was waiting for the pass from the left. After running hard and waiting for Panderpen's pass, Son shook the net with a calm left-footed shot at a narrow angle.

Panderpen scored his first help of the season as he ran alone more than 40 meters, embarrassing Everton's defense, which led to Son Heung-min's goal.

In an interview with the media after the match, Panderpen said, "I just decided to keep running and I didn't want anyone to stop me. And nothing happened. I knew Sonny was on my left, I just pulled the center backs and pulled Son in at the right time. Son finished well."

He added, "I think the fans really liked the moment. If I put the ball on and dribble, you can feel that everyone in the stadium was really excited and it was done as it was."

Panderpen said coach Anji Postecoglou also does not prevent such a surprise dribble breakthrough.

"We have the potential to do such things. Postecoglou has also opened up this possibility for us. It is not a caution that 'the center backs should stay underneath.' I feel comfortable playing like this," he said.

"Coach Postecoglou trusts defenders and trusts all of his team members to do what they want. It's really important that we feel this trust and feel confident in this kind of play," he said.

When asked if he was going to shoot instead of conceding to Son, Panderpen replied, "No. I saw Son and I knew he was going to have to finish."

Son Heung-min, who looked back on the goal, also said in an interview with Tottenham broadcaster Spurs Play, "I told Mickey, 'This is your goal.'

"When Panderpen dribbled and came up, I was running next to him. When I saw him, I thought, 'If you pass me now, I will kill you,'" he said. "Because it was too far to reach the opponent's goal and there was a lot of space in front of Panderpen," he said, reflecting on the situation at the time.

"I was thinking, 'Keep driving it up!'" he said. "And he sent me a perfect pass like a midfielder. After I scored, fans were singing his cheerleading song."

"I was so happy to score a goal. Scoring is always a joy," he said. "I think this is a goal for him because he played hard with the ball and passed it like this. I am so happy and grateful to have such a fantastic defender behind me."

Dutch center back Panderpen moved from Wolfsburg to Tottenham for 40 million euros 59.1 billion won last summer. As soon as he joined the team, he became a key defender of the team and was in charge of defense along with Tottenham vice-captain Christian Romero.

One of Panderpen's strengths is his immense speed, as shown in the scene of Son Heung-min's extra goal against Everton. Panderpen had a top speed of 37.4 km/h recorded in the league in the 2023-24 season, which ranks first overall among Premier League players who played last season.

Panderpen, which can quickly fill the back space because of coach Anji Postecoglou's quick-footed tactics to raise the defensive line high, was at the core. Before Panderpen was out with a hamstring injury, Tottenham briefly took the lead in the Premier League with eight wins and two draws in 10 games at the beginning of the season.   바카라사이트 추천

Tottenham fans also picked Panderpen as the team's key player this season, and the club's official supporter of the 2023-2024 season went to Panderpen. Son Heung-min, the Tottenham captain and three-time player of the year 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2021-2022, had to concede this season to Panderpen.

Postecoglou also praised Panderpen for helping Son score an additional goal. He said, "Panderpen is a special player. When we activated that defense line last year, we were an attractive team. They are really outstanding players when they are at their best."
